Tom MacDonald has played a key role in the development of the Bay State Breakers program for five years. As Director of Hockey Operations he interacts with coaches, players and parent at all levels of youth hockey.
MacDonald’s coaching experience is vast; as he has experience working with players at all levels in the sport. He recently completed his seventh season as an assistant coach at Curry College. He coached junior hockey for seven years, was the goalie coach and assistant coach for two years with the Rhode Island Sharks and served as the assistant coach for three years for the Bridgewater Bandits of the EJHL.

During the 1999-2000 and 2001 season, he was the head coach of the Quincy Junior Rangers of the IJHL. He has also coached many local leagues and hockey camps including the EHF, NECDL, high schools, Mike Sullivan’s and his own Top Shelf Goalie School.
A one-year letterman at UMass Boston and three-year letterman at Salem State, Tom participated on four nationally ranked Division III hockey teams. With the Beacons, he was also named ECAC “Player of The Week” three times and “Player of the Month” once.
Tom graduated from Salem State College in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education & Health. Coach MacDonald resides on the South Shore with his wife Diana and their children.
